IE7
I am afraid thats not possible, what I did was create a restore point before installing IE 7, when a new build of IE 7 came out, all I would have to do is restore it to the point before I installed the IE 7 build and I would have a good as new system. In your case, its a complete reinstall of OS. -- -- Andre Windows Connect | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

First you are posting in the wrong group Secondly have you read the Release Notes on IE7 on how to uninstall it? Please post it to the following IE7 Newsgroup. Read the posts in there and you will see hundreds of posts on how to uninstall it.

You are of course kidding with that answer. There is also NO NEED to reinstall the OS. It can be removed. If you do not know how tell me and will send you the instructions. Few ways to remove it without going to system restore or a reinstall

I removed it by opening the Add or Remove Programs icon in Control Panel then checking the Show Updates box. It then showed up in my list of programs and was deleted the normal way.

P.S. That was with the first Beta 2. The 5335.5 Beta doesn't show up in the list.

Yeh I was going to say... you *must* click on the "Show updates" at the top for it to be displayed, except in 5335 which is a known bug, because it's installed as an application and not an update... so you have to search through the list yourself. Such a pain... but a reinstall is definately not necesssary! :o)

just so that you all will know , here are the different steps for removal::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
First try uninstalling via Add/Remove Programs. (Make sure Show Updates box is checked)
If IE7 isn't found there, try the following, compiled by/courtesy of MVP Sandi Hardmeier:
Run the commandline
%windir%\$NtUninstallie7bet2p$\spuninst\spuninst.exe
(replace %windir% with the path to your Windows folder, most often c:\windows). Make sure view hidden folders is enabled via Control Panel, Folder Options.
or
Go to the key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
Right click on Internet Explorer > New String Value > Name that value InstalledByUser (the value of the new String should be your User Account name) > Uninstall IE7 via Add/Remove Programs.

That path works for the first Beta 2 but the March 20 Beta 2 uses the path:
%windir%\$NtUninstallie7b2pmx$\spuninst\spuninst.exe

Is there a way to save a tab set and open to that tab set whenever you open IE7 as you can do with the MSN toolbar? That'd be really cool!
TIA,
-Greg
Hi Greg,
I don't believe so, no. You may want to file that as a desired feature. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/sentiments/default.mspx

Yes! It's called tab groups.
From the Windows Vista Product Guide:
Tab Groups Internet Explorer simplifies the organization of multiple tabs with Tab Groups. You can organize multiple tabs as a single Tab Group, which you can then save as a Favorite.

Hi Angel,
Hadn't even looked at that, but you don't have to save it as a tabbed group. Simply enter each web address under tools/Internet Options/general tab/Home Page as a separate line, then click ok.
Glad you made me revisit this or I would've missed it.

That's great too. I've also found useful that when I close IE with many tabs open it ask if I want to reopen the same tabs the next time I open IE.
